Squeaky Clean

They way a classroom looks is a very important aspect of learning. I feel like the first impression of the classroom is the first impression of the teacher. If the classroom is organized, clean, and in order then one can assume that the teacher is going to be the same way. A clean environment is very important for the students also. If the space around them is not organized then it can be difficult for them to stay focused. Overall being organized and having a clean room are some traits that every teacher and classroom should have.

-I have provided a link that talks about and explains classroom management and why it is important. Read the article and give your opinion about it.
- We have all had different teachers with different personalities. Do you have any experiences with unorganized teachers? How did it affect you and your learning? Did it bother you at all?

  1. I like your post Tiffany about the up keep required for a classroom. I personally believe that a clean environment will lead to success in the classroom. My corresponding teacher, Mrs. Bunte prides herself in how clean her room is. At the end of the day her students clean out their desks, use disinfectants on the desks, and wipe off the chalkboard. Not only does cleaning help with organization in the classroom, but it also prevents illnesses that children contract. By cleaning the classroom frequently, it prevents frequent absences.

  2. I completely agree with Tiffany's view of keeping up the classroom. I also think that the classroom is a visual as to what the teacher will be like. For example a messy room will lead to a teacher with no structure and is not well prepared. A well kept classroom shows that the teacher cares as to what the classroom looks like. Whether the teacher decides to engage her/his students in the cleaning process is ultimately their choice. I also agree with Mary Kate's corresponding teacher that the kids should be involved. I think the involvement of the kids helps engage them and let them know that it's not YOUR room that you share it and it's all of YOUR's room.
