Happy Teacher

A good teacher is one who never lets their feelings get in the way of their teaching. The students come to learn and the teacher should come to teach. Teachers have to be able to control their emotions and not take things out on their students. They should always remember how much of an impact that they have on their students. If teachers are not willing to give their all, even for one day, they should take a break. If they do not it could make the whole entire day a dreadful experience.

-Have you ever been able to tell when your teacher was in a bad mood?

-How did this experience affect you?

Classroom Rewards

In a classroom there should be some kind of reward systems. Students will want to behave if they know that their good behavior will get them some kind prize. One way to reward students would be by giving them fake money for turning in homework and following rules. Once they get their money they can buy different prizes at a classroom auction. Another way is for them to have different color cards for behavior. If they do not flip a card during the day a teacher can reward them by giving a free homework pass.

-Think of a reward system that you would use in your classroom

-This link shows some other reward systems that teachers have used in their classroom

Keeping Students Attention

It is important for students to pay attention in class. It can be very hard for students to focus if things are not exciting. Teachers need to make sure that they keep their students involved. They can do this by not always just standing up in front of the class and teaching. Playing different games that help students and their memory skills. They can play games that help them remember their spelling words. Another way teachers can keep their students attentive is by letting them teach the class. This will make students want to pay attention because their classmates are teaching them. Taking breaks throughout the day is important because students can tend to fade in and out.
-What are some ways that you think will keep students attentive?

Use of Technology

In today's world almost everything can be completed on the computer. A person can find anything you need to know on the internet. Children should learn now to use the computer at a young age because it will only benefit them when they get older. When the students get in college they will only be using a computer. They will be using it for most of high school too.
-How long have been using a computer?
-Did you teach yourself how to type?
-Do you think it is important for students to know how to use the computer?

Classroom Rules

Rules in the classroom are a must. If there are no rules in the classroom will be a disaster. The students will think they can do whatever they want. They will think they can walk all over their teacher. Some important rules are:
1. raise your hand,always!
2. Stay in your seat
3. Respect yourself and others
-There are many other rules that are necessary for a classroom. What are some rules that you think are appropriate for the classroom?
-I have attached a link of some elementary classroom rules. Do you agree with them? Which ones do you not agree with?

Squeaky Clean

They way a classroom looks is a very important aspect of learning. I feel like the first impression of the classroom is the first impression of the teacher. If the classroom is organized, clean, and in order then one can assume that the teacher is going to be the same way. A clean environment is very important for the students also. If the space around them is not organized then it can be difficult for them to stay focused. Overall being organized and having a clean room are some traits that every teacher and classroom should have.

-I have provided a link that talks about and explains classroom management and why it is important. Read the article and give your opinion about it.
- We have all had different teachers with different personalities. Do you have any experiences with unorganized teachers? How did it affect you and your learning? Did it bother you at all?
